What the history shows
The dialog is titled "History of name" and lists the file's events, newest first, each with its date. The history records events, not versions: it does not keep earlier contents of the file. The following table describes the events.
| Event | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Created by user | The user who uploaded or created the file. |
| Deleted by user | The user who deleted the file. |
| Accessed by user | A user fetched the file's key, for example to view or download it. |
| Shared with user or group | The file was shared with that user or group. |
| Unshared from user or group | That user's or group's access was removed. |
| Classified by, Declassified by, Project set by user | The file's project tag changed. The new project's tag is shown next to the event. |
The dialog loads 50 events at a time. Click Load Older at the bottom of the list to load the next 50. View history is offered for one file at a time, including in Shared With Me and Trash, and never for folders.
If the list is empty, the dialog shows "This file has no history." and "There are no history events for this item. This probably means that something is wrong with the file." Contact your administrator in that case. If the history cannot be loaded, the message "Failed to pull history" appears.
