The Transfer Window
The transfer window opens with Transfer files between My Vault and My Computer, or from a VM. Its header reads "Transfer files between My Vault and My Computer", or "...and VM name" when you open it from a VM. The Vault is on one side and your computer or the VM on the other. The Change layout button at the top right switches between side-by-side and stacked panels. The window opens stacked when it is narrower than 1000 pixels, and tiCrypt remembers where you leave the divider.
Besides dragging, you can select Vault items, click Open full menu, and select Transfer. The items go to the folder open on the other side. Transfer appears only when you can download files, the selected folders' projects are active, and the open destination can receive files. A read-only drive, such as a cloud service drive, refuses with an error.
Every transfer asks for confirmation first. The title reads "Download items to your computer?", "Upload items to the Vault?", or "Transfer items to VM?" or "...to the Vault?" for a VM, and the prompt shows a preview tree of what will move, whose folders open as you click them. A transfer into the Vault also checks your storage allowance, as described in Upload.

- Select provider credentials: lists each set of credentials you already linked for that provider, as "name ( email )" with "n drive(s) attached.". Click a card to use it, or click Add a new set of provider credentials to link another account.
- Select provider drives: when the account has several drives, the pop-up reads "Multiple drives from provider are available. Select at least one to link to tiCrypt." Tick the drives to mount.
- Buttons: Cancel closes the pop-up without changes. The main button reads Login, Accept or Next depending on the step. Next closes the pop-up and opens the transfer window.

To prevent data exfiltration, files can only be transferred from Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, or Microsoft OneDrive to your Vault, not the other way around. The same applies to SFTP inbound. The only connection that can send Vault files out is SFTP bidirectional, and only to a server a Super-admin has allowlisted for you. See SFTP Connections.
Transfer from an SFTP Server to the Vault
bulk-action
An SFTP connection links tiCrypt Connect on your computer to an SFTP server where you have an account. SFTP inbound only pulls files into the Vault and works with any server you can reach. SFTP bidirectional can also push files to a server a Super-admin has approved. For the differences, pushing files out, and disconnecting, see SFTP Connections.
- Go to the Vault icon in the top left panel.
- In the left panel, under My Computer, click Connect to SFTP server.
- Select SFTP inbound.
- In the pop-up, click Add a new set of SFTP inbound credentials.
- Enter the server's Host, your Username and Password on that server, and the Port if it is not 22.
- Click Login.
- Make sure the SFTP drive is ticked, click Accept, then click Next.
- In the Transfer files between My Vault and My Computer window, open the SFTP drive in the right panel.
- Drag-and-drop the file(s) from the right panel into the Vault in the left panel.
- In the pop-up, click Upload.
The files appear in the Vault directory you dropped them on, encrypted like any other upload. The files on the SFTP server are unchanged.
