A project is a classification that tiCrypt enforces. Tagging a file, drive, VM, or inbox with a project (a project tag) records which research effort, contract, or compliance boundary its contents belong to, and limits access to the active members of that project. The system enforces this automatically.

Some projects also require security certifications. Your administrator assigns a security level to the project, and you can use its resources only while you hold valid certifications for all of that level's security requirements.

See Your Projects

Location: Open user menu > My Profile > Associations

  1. Click the Open user menu icon in the toolbar.
  2. Select My Profile.
  3. Under Associations, click Projects in the left panel.
  4. View the projects you are a member of, with your Manager status, the membership Expires date, and whether you Can Download and Can View in Vault for each project.
note

This list shows your current memberships. A membership that has expired no longer appears, and resources tagged with that project are no longer accessible to you. Ask a manager of the project or your administrator to renew it.

See Your Certifications

Location: Open user menu > My Profile > Properties

  1. Click Certifications in the left panel.
  2. View each certification's requirement and expiration date.

For managing your own certifications, see Access Your Profile Certifications.

Classify Files with a Project

You can tag files and directories with any project you are an active member of. Tagging restricts them to that project's members, so classify data as soon as it belongs to a project. See Change Project for tagging, untagging, and tagging a whole directory recursively.

Manage Projects and Members

Creating projects and subprojects, adding or removing members, editing memberships, and certifying users are management tasks for project managers and administrators. See Admin Guide: Projects.
