Users
Prerequisites

The Users table is the primary interface for managing tiCrypt accounts. The typical user lifecycle is:
- Registration: the user creates an account and downloads their private key
- Activation: an admin activates the account (manually or via an onboarding template)
- Team assignment: the user is added to one or more teams (required for activation)
- Active use: the user works with files, VMs, and compute resources
- Deactivation: the admin deactivates the account when access is no longer needed
- Deletion: the admin removes the account (soft-delete; can be restored from the Deleted Users table)
Access the User's Overlayβ
- Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
- Navigate to the Users section.
- Click the Users in the top left panel.
- Select the user whose overlay you want to view.
- Click the Open Full Menu button in the top right panel.
- Select Open Overlay.
- In the new window, access the user's:
- State.
- Profile.
- Certifications.
- Teams.
- Projects.
- Groups in common with you.
- VM Configurations.
- Running VMs.
- Drives.
- Manual permission management.
Sub-admins can only view the users they manage.
View Userβs Detailsβ
- Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
- Navigate to the Users section.
- Click the Users in the top left panel.
- Select the user you wish to view.
- Click the View button in the top right panel.
- In the left panel, view the user's name, email, role, state, permissions, department and position, contact, joined date, last login date, last TOS status, and last password change.
- To access more details about the user, click the Open Overlay button in the top left panel.
- Only sub-admin, admin, and super-admin roles may view the user details.
Add User(s) to an Onboard Templateβ

- Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
- Navigate to the Users section.
- Click the Users in the top left panel.
- Select the user(s) you wish to add to the onboard template.
- Click the Open Full Menu button in the top right panel.
- Select Onboard.
- In the pop-up, select the onboard template.
- Click Onboard.
Add User(s) to Team(s) from Managementβ

- Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
- Navigate to the Users section.
- Click the Users in the top left panel.
- Select the user(s) you wish to add to team(s).
- Click the Open Full Menu button in the top right panel.
- Select Add to team(s).
- In the pop-up, enter the team name(s) to join.
- Click Save.
Add User(s) to Project(s) from Managementβ

- Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
- Navigate to the Users section.
- Click the Users in the top left panel.
- Select the user(s) you wish to add to project(s).
- Click the Open Full Menu button in the top right panel.
- Select Add to project(s).
- In the pop-up, enter the project name(s) to join and tick the project(s).
- Add an optional expiration date, role in the project(s), and restrictions.
- Once done, click Save.
Add Certification to User(s) from Managementβ

- Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
- Navigate to the Users section.
- Click the Users in the top left panel.
- Select the user(s) you wish to add a certification to.
- Click the Open Full Menu button in the top right panel.
- Select Add certification.
- In the pop-up, enter the security requirement, expiration date, and certificate update attempt.
- Click Certify.
Tick the Never expires box to keep project members' certificates active indefinitely.
Change State of User(s) from Managementβ
bulk-action
- Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
- Navigate to the Users section.
- Click the Users in the top left panel.
- Select the user(s) whose state you want to change.
- Click the Open Full Menu button in the top right panel.
- Select Change State.
- In the pop-up, select between Inactive, Active, or Active and escrow on next login.
- Click Deactivate, Activate, or Require Escrow based on the selected option.
Edit Users' Details (Metadata) from Managementβ
- Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
- Navigate to the Users section.
- Click the Users in the top left panel.
- Select the user whose details you wish to edit.
- Click the Open Full Menu button in the top right panel.
- Select Edit metadata.
- In the pop-up, edit the first and last name, contact email, department and position.
- Click Save.
Refresh User Information from Managementβ

- Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
- Navigate to the Users section.
- Click the Users in the top left panel.
- Select the user(s) whose information you want to refresh.
- Click the Open Full Menu button in the top right panel.
- Select Refresh user info.
- In the pop-up, click Refresh user info.
Refreshing a user's information re-records it in the audit log.
Apply Profile to User(s) in Managementβ

- Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
- Navigate to the Users section.
- Click the Users in the top left panel.
- Select the user(s) you wish to apply a profile to.
- Click the Open Full Menu button in the top right panel.
- Select Apply profile.
- In the pop-up, select the custom profile to apply to user(s).
- Click Apply.
Change Role of User(s) in Managementβ

- Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
- Navigate to the Users section.
- Click the Users in the top left panel.
- Select the user(s) whose role you want to change.
- Click the Open Full Menu button in the top right panel.
- Select Change Role.
- In the pop-up, select the role between User, Sub-administrator, Administrator, or Super-administrator.
- Click Promote or Demote based on the selected option.
Make an Announcement to User(s) in Managementβ

- Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
- Navigate to the Users section.
- Click the Users in the top left panel.
- Select the user(s) you wish to make an announcement to.
- Click the Open Full Menu button in the top right panel.
- Select Make announcement.
- In the pop-up, enter the message to the user(s).
- Click Send.
Announcements are not end-to-end encrypted and are intended for general messages to users.
Bulk Email Users in Managementβ
bulk-action
- Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
- Navigate to the Users section.
- Click the Users in the top left panel.
- Select the user(s) you wish to bulk email.
- Click the Open Full Menu button in the top right panel.
- Select Bulk Email.
- In the pop-up, click Copy to copy the emails or click Download to download the emails.
- Once done, click Close.
Tick the Prefer contact email? box to use the user's separately configured contact email address instead of their login email.
Bulk Export Users in CSV Format from Managementβ

- Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
- Navigate to the Users section.
- Click the Users in the top left panel.
- Select the users you wish to bulk export in CSV format.
- Click the Export CSV button in the top right panel.
- Select Selected items.
- In the pop-up, select the local directory to save the file in.
- Click Save.
Bulk Export Users in JSON Format from Managementβ
bulk-action
- Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
- Navigate to the Users section.
- Click the Users in the top left panel.
- Select the users you wish to bulk export in JSON format.
- Click the Export JSON button in the top right panel.
- Select Export selected items.
- In the pop-up, select the local directory to save the file in.
- Click Save.
Delete a User from Managementβ
- Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
- Navigate to the Users section.
- Click the Users in the top left panel.
- Select the user you wish to delete.
- Click the Open Full Menu button in the top right panel.
- Select Delete.
- In the pop-up, click Delete user.
Deleting a user is a soft-delete. The account moves to the Deleted Users table and can be restored. The system will warn you if the user owns drives or belongs to teams and projects.
