  1. Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
  2. Navigate to the Virtual Machines section.
  3. Click the Libvirt Volumes in the left panel.
  4. View the realm, pool, volume, VM image, capacity, and allocation in the list.

The following table describes the columns of the Libvirt Volumes table.

ColumnContent
RealmThe realm of the storage pool that holds the volume.
PoolThe storage pool that holds the volume.
VolumeThe file name of the volume.
VM ImageThe VM image registered on the volume, with a link to its panel. Empty when no VM image uses the volume.
CapacityThe size of the volume.
AllocatedThe space the volume uses on disk.

Rows of volumes that no VM image uses yet are green: these volumes are available to register as a VM image. View appears only for a row linked to a VM image, and opens that VM image's panel.

Create a Raw Volume

A raw volume is a blank disk file in a Libvirt storage pool. Creating one is the first step in building a VM image inside tiCrypt: you then register it as a VM image, attach it to a service VM, and boot the service VM from an ISO to install the operating system. For the full procedure, see Windows Images.

Location: Management > Virtual Machines > Libvirt Volumes

  1. Click the Create raw volume button in the top right panel.
  2. In the Create raw image pop-up, select the Realm.
  3. Enter the Name. .qcow2 is added automatically.
  4. Enter the Size. The unit defaults to GB.
  5. Click Create.
Result:

The message "Created raw image <file>" appears, and the new volume is added to the table as a green row, ready to register as a VM image.

The following table describes the fields of the Create raw image pop-up.
