A device is tiCrypt's record of a device type that hosts offer, such as a GPU model. It holds an ID, a display name and optional tags. The ID matches the device ID used in hardware profiles; the tags group devices for team quota enforcement.
Add every device that hardware profiles define, so it has a name and tags for quota purposes. A device
type found in a hardware profile but not yet saved here appears as a red row named [UK:<ID>].
The Devices table appears for users with the View all security requirements permission. The backend accepts creating, editing and deleting devices only from a Super-admin.

The following table describes the fields of the Create new device pop-up.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| ID | Required, up to 80 characters, without any of / \ | " : * ? < > { }. It must differ from every other device ID. It cannot be changed later. |
| Name | Required, up to 80 characters, with the same rules. It must differ from every other device name. |
| Add a new tag ... | Optional. The notice reads "Assign an optional tag to each device. Devices with the same tag will be grouped together for quota enforcement." |
While any unconfigured device exists, the pop-up shows "You have devices without complete information. You have to add the missing information before you can add new devices." The ID field then becomes a list of the unconfigured device IDs, so you configure those first.
