Certify User(s) with a Certification for a Security Requirement

bulk-action

  1. Go to the Management icon in the top left taskbar.
  2. Navigate to the Projects section.
  3. Click the User Certifications in the left panel.
  4. Click the Certify user(s) for a security requirement button in the top right panel.
  5. In the Certify user(s) for a requirement dialog, select the requirement under Requirements and the user(s) under Users.
  6. Set the Expiration, or tick Never expires.
  7. With several users selected, choose what happens to users who already hold the certification under Existing certifications.
  8. Click Certify.

The following table describes the fields of the dialog.

FieldDescription
Expiration dateThe heading reads "This certification requires an expiration date." or "This certification may have an expiration date, but it is optional.", depending on the requirement. The date is prefilled with today plus the requirement's default lifespan, and cannot be later than today plus its maximum lifespan. A date in the past is allowed: the dialog warns that the certification will be expired, which can be useful for bookkeeping.
Never expiresAppears only when the requirement does not force an expiration date.
Existing certificationsAppears only when more than one user is selected. Update (the default) updates the expiration of users who already hold the certification; it is disabled when you lack the Edit users' certifications, such as expiration dates permission. Skip leaves them unchanged. With one user selected, an existing certification is updated.

Edit or Renew a User Certification

  2. Navigate to the Projects section.
  3. Click the User Certifications in the left panel.

  5. Click the Edit/Renew button in the top right panel. The button appears only when exactly one certification is selected.
  6. In the Edit <user>'s certification for <requirement> dialog, untick the box Never expires as needed.
  7. Update the expiration date.
  8. Click Save.

Edit/Renew changes only the expiration of the certification.
