Last updated: May 15, 2026Latest Frontend Version: 2.16.17
This page introduces the responsibilities and tools available to tiCrypt administrators. Complete the User Training track before starting here.
Administrative Roles
tiCrypt has several administrative roles, each with different scope and visibility. For a full breakdown, see User Roles.
| Role | Scope | Primary Responsibilities |
|---|---|---|
| Admin | Global | Manage all users, teams, projects, VMs, and system settings |
| Super-Admin | Global | All admin capabilities, plus user deletion and advanced configuration |
| Sub-Admin | Limited | Manage users and resources within assigned teams and projects |
The Management Interface
Administrators access management functions through the Management icon in the top toolbar. This interface is organized into sections:
| Section | What it contains |
|---|---|
| Users | User list, profiles, permissions, onboarding templates, deleted users |
| Teams | Team membership, quotas, resource allocation |
| Projects | Project membership, security levels, certifications |
| Virtual Machines | VM configurations, hardware setups, images, drives, running VMs |
| SLURM | Job management, node configuration, user accounts |
| Settings | System-wide configuration, custom fields, audit |
User Lifecycle
A typical user moves through these stages in tiCrypt:
- Registration -- the user creates an account and downloads their private key
- Activation -- an admin activates the account (or an onboarding template auto-provisions it)
- Team and project assignment -- the admin adds the user to the appropriate teams and projects
- Active use -- the user works with files, VMs, and compute resources
- Deactivation -- the admin deactivates the account when the user leaves or access expires

For detailed procedures on each stage, see the Users section of the Admin Guide.
