New
- User settings has a "Single-key keyboard shortcuts" switch. Turning it off stops shortcuts that use only character keys (such as T for tasks, ? for the shortcut list, N for new item, and Space in the video player), so speech input or a stray key press cannot set them off. Shortcuts with Ctrl, Alt or Cmd keep working. It is on by default
- A "Skip to main content" link is the first thing the Tab key reaches on every page. It moves focus past the navigation to the page content, and appears only while it has focus
- In a VM terminal, Ctrl+Shift+F moves keyboard focus out of the terminal to the next control. Tab, Shift+Tab and Escape still go to the remote shell. A hint under each terminal, the Terminal keybindings menu and the Terminal hub help describe it
- Tables that refresh automatically have a button to turn automatic refresh on and off. Before, this needed a long press on Refresh, which still works
- The Register pages, and Edit user information when you edit your own details, let the browser fill in your Login ID, first name, last name, email and position
Changes
- Deleting teams, projects, certifications or VM configurations from an onboard template, and Unshare from everyone else on a drive, now ask for confirmation first
- The browser tab title now names the current page, for example "Vault - tiCrypt", with the unread notification count in front when there is one. Before, every page showed only the deployment name
- Opening a panel (user, project, VM, file preview and the other full-page panels) now moves keyboard focus to its first control, and Tab stays inside the panel until it is closed or minimized. Closing or minimizing it returns focus to the control that opened it. Before, focus went to the Minimize button or stayed on the page underneath
- The share menu's list of users and groups, and its search field, can now be used from the keyboard. Focus moves into the menu when it opens, Tab stays inside it, and Escape closes it
- In the Dark, Cool Gray and Classic themes, warning text and warning notices use the same red as errors instead of orange
Fixes
- Screen readers now name icon-only buttons after their tooltip (such as Refresh or Delete), and icon-only buttons without a tooltip (copy, delete, expand, clear and remove buttons) have names too. Images have text alternatives, and Yes/No table cells are read as Yes or No
- The Vault, Virtual Machines and Management links in the main navigation now have names for screen readers when their text label is hidden. The tooltip of the drive selector's clear button now reads "Clear selected drive", matching its name
- Sortable table headers can be reached with Tab and sorted with Enter or Space, and screen readers announce the sort order
- System Settings categories and settings, the add rows of the drive, VM configuration, access directory and quota forms, Vault grid tiles (Enter opens, Space opens the actions menu), task tray items and documentation search results now work from the keyboard
- In the documentation search, pressing Enter in the search field no longer replaces the results with the search history
- VM file explorer rows and tiles (Enter opens, Space selects, arrow keys move), archive viewer rows, VM log entries, video annotation rows, inbox access points, cloud credential cards and the VM overview log panel now work from the keyboard
- Items that open a detail panel when clicked, such as list rows, table cells and project tags, can now be reached with Tab and opened with Enter
- Folder trees (Vault, folder pickers, VM directories and archives) work with the arrow keys: Right and Left open and close folders, Up and Down move between them, and Enter or Space selects. Screen readers announce which folders are open and which item is selected, in trees and in selectable lists and file tables. Project names in the project tree view now use the same font as the list view
- Screen readers now announce whether accordion sections are open, which side navigation item is selected, and which of the VMs and Drives views is shown
- Buttons and switches that sat inside another button (pin, menu, refresh, transfer, settings and terminal buttons in list rows and section headers, the bundle checkbox and the share expiration switch) and the pin buttons in action menus are now exposed to screen readers. The help, VNC and file viewer frames have titles
- The radio buttons in the escrow user tables are named after their user, Vault and VM file tiles announce that they are selected, and chart legend items can be turned on and off from the keyboard
- Screen readers no longer announce list item names, values, task, drive, search, setting and custom field names as headings. Each main section starts with a heading for screen readers, and section titles in forms, dialogs, steppers and the escrow and sitekey pages are announced as headings
- Detail panels are read as tables, with each value tied to its label, the item name as a heading and each card title as a heading below it
- Radio button and checkbox groups announce the question they answer, and the BTRFS compression options in the drive forms are no longer announced as "Backup settings". Duration and size fields, and custom form fields, are named after their label
- In the drive forms, the BTRFS compression level slider now changes the compression level; before, it moved a second slider handle that was not saved
- Search boxes and toolbar filters have labels, and required form fields show an asterisk and are announced as required
- Form fields that only turned red when their value was invalid now show an error message that says what is wrong
- Screen readers now announce sign-in errors, notices and task status changes, such as "Upload report.pdf: finished"
- Instructions now name the control to use instead of only its place or color, such as the plus button or the green key parts. Escrow key parts that you hold also show a check mark
- The headers of VM sub-detail views show the VM state in text, such as "VM Access Directory · Connected"; before, it was shown only by a blue or red tint. The keyboard cursor in the Vault grid view has an outline, the access point whose details are open is highlighted, and escrow group columns you belong to are marked
- After an admin signs in with session downgrade, the Tab key can leave the session profile form
- Links in the terms of use, CUI and last sign-in dialogs can be reached with Tab, the drive selector's clear button no longer traps Tab, and the Vault actions menu takes focus when it is opened from the keyboard
- In the Dark and Cool Gray themes, blue links and button text, red error text and green success text use lighter colors that are easier to read on the dark background. Filled blue buttons, filled red buttons, red and orange notification bars and the notification count badges use darker colors behind their white text, which now meet WCAG AA contrast (4.5:1)
- In the Classic theme, red error and warning text and filled red buttons use darker colors that meet WCAG AA contrast (4.5:1)
- In the High Contrast theme, red text is lighter so it can be read on the black background
- The control that has keyboard focus now shows a blue outline in every view, and a white outline on blue toolbars, tabs and notification bars
- Progress bars, such as quota usage and password strength, are taller and have an outline that shows their full length, and the warning part uses the theme's warning color. The underline of filled form fields is easier to see
