VM Installer 3.11.6
What is in this release
| Count | Summary | |
|---|---|---|
| New | 1 | The registrationConfig.delaySeconds setting, which makes a VM wait before it registers with the backend |
New
- The
delaySecondssetting in the[registrationConfig]section of controller.toml sets how many seconds a VM waits after it starts before it registers with the backend. A VM that reboots unexpectedly, for example after a Windows update, loses its session key and cannot register again, so a delay gives administrators time to step in first. It defaults to0, which registers right away.
Upgrading
- Download the package for your platform: Windows (MSI), Linux (RPM) or Ubuntu (DEB).
- To upgrade an existing image, boot it in a service VM or an external hypervisor, install the new package, and shut down the VM.
- Before shutting the VM down, review controller.toml, and set
delaySecondsif the image needs a registration delay. - To build a new image instead, see Windows Image Creation or Linux Image Creation.
