How can my drive data be saved if it is encrypted?

All tiCrypt hard drives are encrypted.

If you were to create a backup from a virtual machine configuration, you could expose data. An internal Virtual Machine configuration backup that analyzes unencrypted content is easy but also a detrimental security breach.

In tiCrypt, you can only view the encrypted files, but you cannot perform checkpoint backups on them.

To recover the data you should start looking at the youngest checkpoint and follow the incremental backups over it.

info
  • tiCrypt views your changes in the drive, not in the file.
  • tiCrypt encrypted drives are backed up from the outside to the inside, instead of the traditional inside to outside backups.
