Terminals

What are the Terminals?

The terminals allow you to access multiple VM command lines, similar to how you would use your local machine's terminal.

They are designed to improve productivity and streamline workflows for both VM users and VM owners.

The terminals display only active and connected VMs. You can operate multiple terminals from connected VMs if you have access to those VMs.

Is Progress Saved in Terminals?

All work progress and custom layouts in active terminals are automatically saved and restored each time you open the terminals window, allowing you to resume where you left off. You should delete a terminal once you have finished your work in it. Deleted terminals will not restore progress.

Are the Terminals Connected to My Local Machine Terminal?

The terminals are completely independent of your local machine.

How to Manage Terminals Tabs Effectively?

Active Window terminals may originate from different VMs with various setups, allowing you to work on a Linux terminal and a Windows terminal from different connected VMs simultaneously.

  • Click on any terminal listed in the left panel to add it as a tab to your active window. This allows you to quickly switch between different terminal sessions without opening multiple windows.

  • Drag and drop or rearrange terminals to organize your work environment effectively.

  • Click the terminal number of each VM in the left panel to actively use the selected terminal.

  • Collapsing the terminal list saves screen space when a large number of VMs are in use.
