What determines when a project is active in my session?

Your project is active when you see the project in your under Projects section.

Additionally, you can see the project tag of the projects when you satisfy the security restrictions for those projects. If you do not satisfy the security requirements for a project, you will see the lock tag on it and will not be able to access it.

It is helpful to deactivate unused projects at a broader scale for security good practice.
