How to change my team's resource utilization?

Quotas equal to restrictions plus resource limits.

Team quotas serve two important roles in the system.

  • Prevent users from abusing the space for CPU, RAM, and drives.
  • Reduce the user costs for the disk space (via metering).
    • Side note: metering allows the research groups to pay their organization per accurate resource usage. This may vary based on the institutions' policy.

  • The system is default shut with utilization.
  • Sharing a team's drive must be conducted on read-only mode to work correctly.
  • A team without quotas is a team with no resources limit.

1. Edit Team Quotas​

To edit team quotas navigate to the tab in the Teams section.

  • Select the team you want to edit the quotas for.
  • Click the Edit quotas button in the top right.
  • Follow the instructions from edit team quotas section.

If a team abuses utilization, the admins may shut down their VMs.

To edit team metadata navigate to the tab in the Teams section.

  • Select the team you want to edit.
  • Click the Edit metadata button in the top right.
