Download Files and Directories to the Local Machine

Method One

  1. Go to the Vault icon in the top left panel.
  2. Click the My files section on the left panel.
  3. Select the file(s) or directory(s) you want to download.
  4. Click Download in the top center panel.
  5. In the prompt, preview files and directories structure.
  6. Select the destination of your download.
  7. Click Download.
note

Downloads occur in the current session of the user's browser.

Downloading files removes tiCrypt encryption and protection. It is your responsibility to secure the files upon download.

Method two

  1. Go to the Vault icon in the top left panel.
  2. Click the File Transfer Hub button in the top left panel.
  3. Select Transfer.
  4. In the new window, select the vault files in the left panel to download.
  5. Drag-and-drop the files to the right panel into the local machine's access directory.
  6. In the prompt, preview files and directories structure.
  7. Click Download.

You can also right-click the files or directories in File Transfer Hub and select Download.

No Permission to Download Files
You do not have permission to download files.
Ask Your Admin for Permission
Ask your admin to activate your Download own files' content permission.
Downloaded Files Warning
Downloading files removes tiCrypt encryption and protections. Ensure file security is your responsibility.
Ensure Safety of Files
Ask your admin for guidance on where to store the files and directories locally.
Download Writer Denied Access
Failed to download file /file-name.file-format: downloadFile: Could not open download writer: downloadFile: failed to open destination file file-download-path.
Ask Your Admin for Download Access
Ask your admin to change your access level to the file and allow you to download the file locally.

Download Shared Files and Directories to the Local Machine

  1. Go to the Vault icon in the top left panel.
  2. Click the Shared With Me or Shared By Me sections on the left panel.
  3. Select the shared file(s) or directory(s) you want to download.
  4. Click Download in the top center panel.
  5. In the prompt, preview shared files and directories structure.
  6. Select the destination of your download.
  7. Click Download.
caution

Ensure you have download permissions from your admin. If the shared file or directory belongs to a group or project you lack access to, you cannot download it.

Ask your admin to activate your Download own files' content permission.
Failed to Create Directory- Denied Access
Failed to create directory /directory-name in destination: failed to create directory: mkdir directory-download-path:Access is denied.
Choose a Different Download Path
Your local machine default downloads are located in the Downloads folder. Choose a different download path or make a new directory in Downloads.
Failed to Create Directory- Existing File
Failed to create directory /directory-or-group-directory-name in destination: failed to create directory: mkdir directory-download-path: Cannot create a file when that file already exists.
Cancel Download
You have already downloaded the same file locally, avoid re-downloading copies of the file and search the file locally.

View Downloaded Files and Directories

  1. Go to the Vault icon in the top left panel.
  2. Click the Downloads section on the left panel.
  3. View all downloaded files and directories in the vault.

  • All download attempts are registered in the audit logs.
  • The Downloads section also includes files transferred via the File Transfer Hub.
