What is the difference between snapshot/incremental interval and checkpoint/full interval backup?

tiCrypt backups are fundamentally distinct from traditional backups because they backup fully encrypted data.

All current drives are former backups that were done in the past.

• Snapshot: captures the previous change and only records the change.
• Checkpoint: captures all data and makes a complete copy.

• Checkpoints are large backups. Snapshots are small backups.
• When you create a new backup strategy in the tab in the Backup Strategies section, you are performing a tiCrypt backup of an encrypted drive.

• For best practice you should first, back up everything, then perform incremental backups.
• In principle, incremental backups are significantly cheaper than full backups.
