Download Files and Directories in tiCrypt​

  1. Go to the Vault icon in the top left panel.
  2. Click the My files section on the left panel.
  3. Select the file or directory you want to download.
  4. Click Download in the top center panel.
  5. In the prompt, preview files and directories structure.
  6. Select the destination of your download.
  7. Click Download.
note

Downloads occur in the current session of the user's browser.

Downloading files removes tiCrypt encryption and protection. It is your responsibility to secure the files upon download.

Download Shared Files and Directories in tiCrypt​

  1. Go to the Vault icon in the top left panel.
  2. Click the Shared With Me or Shared By Me sections on the left panel.
  3. Select the shared file or directory you want to download.
  4. Click Download in the top center panel.
  5. In the prompt, preview shared files and directories structure.
  6. Select the destination of your download.
  7. Click Download.

Ensure you have download permissions from your admin. If the shared file or directory belongs to a group or project you lack access to, you cannot download it.

Download Files and Directories via Web Browser​

  1. Go to the Vault icon in the top left panel.
  2. Click the My files section on the left panel.
  3. Select the shared file or directory you want to download.
  4. Click the Open Full Menu button in the top center panel.
  5. Select Download via Browser.
  6. In the prompt, select the destination of your download.
  7. Click Download.

You will be prompted to enter your password to confirm downloads via browser.

caution

Downloading via browser does not preserve the files and directories structure.

Download Shared Files and Directories via Web Browser​

  1. Go to the Vault icon in the top left panel.
  2. Click Shared With Me or Shared By Me sections on the left panel.
  3. Select the shared file or directory you want to download via the browser.
  4. Click the Open Full Menu button in the top center panel.
  5. Select Download via Browser.
  6. In the prompt, select the destination of your download.
  7. Click Download.

You will be prompted to enter your password to confirm downloads via browser.

Downloading via the browser does not preserve the structure of shared files and directories.

View Downloaded Files and Directories​

  1. Go to the Vault icon in the top left panel.
  2. Click the Downloads section on the left panel.
  3. View all downloaded files and directories in the vault.

  • All download attempts are registered in the audit logs.
  • The Downloads section also includes files transferred via the File Transfer Hub.

Difference Between Downloading via tiCrypt Connect and Web Browser​

Downloading via tiCrypt Connect offers better performance and supports larger data transfers bypassing the browser. Downloading via the browser is an alternative method but is limited to half of your local machine's memory. Use browser downloads as a backup to the primary tiCrypt Connect download method.
